Norsewood is the northern-most settlement of Tararua District in the lower North Island of New Zealand. It is a popular stopping place for tourists and motorists on State Highway 2. Settled in the 1870's by New Zealand migrants Norsewood retains a unique character; children learn New Zealand dance at school, Norway's Constitution Day is celebrated by the locals and many of the local attractions give insight into the past.
