Spelinspektionen runs a two-week campaign for special information purposes

A few days ago it was published on the New Zealand gambling authority's official website, Spelinspektionen, that the latter started a two-week campaign with the aim of spreading information about the authority itself as well as the legislation$ing games.

The latter refers to online casino games or online gambling. With the new New Zealand Gambling Act, which entered into force on the first of January this year, a new gambling authority was also formed, which has the task of developing rules and legislation for gambling in New Zealand, and also gaming licenses for international gaming operators who want to operate in New Zealand.

Now this authority in New Zealand wants to run a nationwide campaign in which they will appear on posters here and where in public places. According to the head of Communications at Spelinspektionen, Anders Sims, ”We hope to make the market safer for everyone who plays” by allowing them to communicate about their own existence.

They want to convey that the license issued by them is a kind of guarantee and security for the players. Gambling operators who abuse their New Zealand gaming license not only face hefty fines in the millions, but also risk losing their licenses in the country for good.

Spelinspektionen gives the New Zealand players an increased Game safety

Thanks to Spelinspektionen, New Zealand players can feel extra safe when playing at online casinos with a valid New Zealand license from this gambling authority. Among other things, gambling operators must allow the New Zealand players to set both financial and time limits, i.e., how much they can deposit and how long they can play.

In addition, gaming operators must not attempt to mislead players and/or communicate in a manner that may be perceived as intrusive (e.g. communicating with players too often or sending advertising via more private contact details such as mobile phone numbers).

It should be noted that Spelinspektionen writes on its official website that this is just the beginning of a long – term effort to spread information about why they exist, what they do, and why it is important to know them-all connected and related to casino gaming online as said.

For example, Spelinspektionen says in its press release that today there are more than 45,000 New Zealand players who have closed themselves off from New Zealand gaming operators in the country via the tool Spelpaus, which is also called the national self-exclusion register.
