Betsson Group reports different revenue figures in the second quarter of 2021

The New Zealand-founded online gaming portal Betsson Group has now in its latest quarterly report reported different figures for different product categories where they saw a revenue increase of 14% and an organic increase of 24 %.

For example, Betsson's revenue for the period april to June was NZD 1.75 billion, while its operating profit rose by 76% to NZD 383.4 million – an operating profit margin of 21.9 %.

At the same time, revenues were not evenly distributed across the different product categories, as was said during the period april-July. Their revenue for the casino portion of their various gaming and betting sites had fallen by 5% while their revenue for sportsbooks at the same gaming sites had increased by a whopping 125% over the same period.

Overall, net income amounted to NZD 337.9 million, with participants agreeing to share dividends to shareholders worth NZD 3.68 per share during the annual general meeting. Cash flow in the business had now reached a total of NZD 570.7 million, with an increase in the number of active customers of up to 25 %.

The partial acquisitions of JDP Tech Ltd and Strive Platform Ltd

Other exciting events during Betsson Group's second quarter for 2021 included that during this period the Gaming Group bought up 50% of the shares of JDP Tech Ltd and just over a third (35 %) of Strive Platform Ltd.

The former is a software and development company that offers technical platform solutions where, among other things, they manage various payment flows in the new and lucrative gaming market in Latin America.

The latter is registered as an IT Consultant offering software development solutions to companies both domestically and abroad. When that 35% was acquired by Strive platform, Betsson's chief executive Pontus Lindwall commented on the deal, saying: ”This investment is another important milestone in our U.S. expansion plan. The investment will enable our B2C launch of the Betsafe gaming brand in the US State of Colorado and thus reach more US players with Betsson's diverse gaming offering.”

Commenting on the second quarter's 2021 report itself, the Betsson CEO said: "the second quarter is proof of how strong our business model really is. We have broken new profit records thanks to how scalable we are and how wide geographical scope we have with our products and services.”

"During major international sporting events such as the CONMEBOL Copa América and Euro 2020, we offered highly entertaining and competitive betting to our players, while improving the betting client and therefore the betting experience.”

In comparison, Betsson Group reported revenues of NZD 1.59 billion in the first quarter, which was a 12% increase from last year's Sek 1.41 billion in the same quarter.

Other gaming companies that have also submitted their quarterly reports include the land – based Casino Las Vegas Sands and the digital game provider of online casino games-Evolution.
